Personal Summary
Hugh Chappell
I have worked in the IT industry since 1976 and was honoured to work with Apple Computer in the UK from 1979 when the PC industry was in its infancy. I established Taxan (Europe) Ltd in 1985 and over the next 18 years managed an international business which sold more than 5 million monitors and graphics adaptors. My personal goal was to own and manage my own business and this was realised when I co-founded TrustedReviews.com in 2003 followed by the acquisition of bit-tech.net in 2005. As market leaders in their sectors I sold TrustedReviews.com in October 2007 to Time Warner/IPC Media and bit-tech.net in October 2008 to Dennis Publishing. I now have several business interests primarily via mentoring and angel investment. I have also joined the Board of Time Out Group, based in London, from April 2010. I joined Net Communities in November 2009 in a part-time role as Chairman. Net Communities operates in a sector where I have had great success (internet, technology and publishing) so I am delighted to be working with Andy Evans (Manager Director) and the rest of the staff to develop the business. I am particularly pleased to be working in an environment of customer excellence, passion, hard work and rapid growth.
