We were really pleased with the outcome. There were a bunch of good apps and a wide variety. The t-shirts were brilliant, and the day had a nice relaxed atmosphere.
Overall, the day worked really well and we had a great time.

Net Communities was asked by Microsoft to raise awareness for Windows Azure within its target audience of tech savvy developers. It wanted a hands-on campaign that encouraged developers to get involved both online and offline.
Our solution was The Cloud Hack. A real-life hack day focusing on Windows Azure with a competition to build the best Azure application. We backed this up with Hack from Home, a virtual equivalent of the hack day that users could enter from the comfort of their sofas.
- Net Communities teamed up with PayPal, Huddle, Bing and National Rail to provide competition entrants a selection of APIs to incorporate into their apps.
- Expert developers from these companies also presented and judged the entries.
- Promotion through social media and high-impact formats.
